Grasshopper, can be used as a scout right in to end game thanks to maneuverability and many support hardpoints giving it a very effective alpha. Shadowhawk, with the added melee damage it makes a fine SRM brawler. Or the Yen-Lo-Wang build.Įnforcer, (people will disagree) the AC5 + 5 medium laser build is a solid all-rounder. Urbanmech, max JJs and armor, an AC5 and two medium lasers make this a reasonable harasser.Ĭenturion, enough missile mounts to be an LRM boat or SRM brawler, and can be matched with the appropriate AC. Jenner, enough firepower to stay relevant in mid-late game.

What sort of information are you looking for? If you don’t want off-the-cuff answers and the spreadsheet doesn’t answer you, I’d guess you’re looking for a brief write up on each of the proposed mechs, so.įirestarter, has enough support weapon hard points to approach heavy / assault mech damage output in close quarters, and speed to boot. So I got a huge head start going into this game, and I'm at the point now where I think it's time to start min/maxing my lance. I got *really* lucky very early on in the game and got a Quickdraw, Hunchback, Dragon, and Jaegermech in my 2nd and 4th auto generated missions respectively before I ever set foot on the moon to get the Argo. I'm about 40 hours in with almost three full teams of at least heavies. The best I could find was this spreadsheet, which helps a lot, but I feel like the data is incomplete without some context: I've tried googling and almost everything that came up was for MechWarrior Online, which just doesn't apply here. I want data based on the most available free tonnage, most equip-able weapons, etc. I don't really want just a general answer like "Uhhh Atlas is clearly always the best!". So my question is, given the limitations of the mechs in this specific game to fit the mechanics, what are the top 3 "best" mechs in each weight class? But after about 40 hours in now I'm just finding that some mechs, namely the lighter ones, don't live up to their ilk. Don't get me wrong, I'm loving the game so far, and I'm so happy to see that this game has so painstakingly stayed true to the lore and setting of the franchise.

With that said, I'm quickly finding that the mechs in this game don't always match the reputation they have in the tabletop or MechWarrior games simply because of the game mechanics.

I'm well aware of the in-lore status of each mech on the battlefield, and the fear MechWarriors have when they see an Atlas or Awesome. To help set some common ground and context, I'd like to point out that I've been a fan of Battletech and the associated MechWarrior games since the beginning, I was exposed to Battletech very early as a child when the franchises was in it's infancy in the '80's, and have generally followed the lore since MechWarrior 2. Hey all, first time poster, but a long time Battletech fan here.
